AI Disclosure
How we use AI
KnowMyMarkers uses artificial intelligence (AI) in several ways to help you understand your lab results. This disclosure explains where AI is used, what it does, and what it does not do.
Report extraction
When you upload a lab report, AI is used to identify and extract biomarker values, reference ranges, test dates, and laboratory information. Each extracted result includes an extraction confidence score. Extraction is not perfect — you can confirm, edit, delete, or flag any result.
Educational explanations
AI generates plain-language explanations for biomarkers, including what they measure, why they're tested, and factors that can affect results. These explanations are educational and reviewed for quality, but may contain errors.
Ask My Markers
The Ask My Markers AI assistant answers your questions about your biomarker history. Answers may include summaries, trend explanations, and suggested questions for your doctor. These answers are educational and do not constitute medical advice or diagnosis.
What AI does not do
- AI does not diagnose medical conditions.
- AI does not replace professional medical advice.
- AI output never directly overwrites your verified biomarker values.
- AI does not make treatment recommendations.
Human oversight
You have final approval over all data that enters your health history. AI extraction results require your verification before being saved. You can edit or delete any AI-extracted value at any time.
Provider independence
Our AI architecture is provider-independent. We track the provider, model, tokens, cost, latency, and status of every AI request. Prompt versions are tracked for reproducibility.
